170ml.
Ming Lu 明炉 is the Austere shape and model which all ZiSha collectors love for its extreme practicality!
Ming Lu first of all, 1)exudes the Aura of Chinese Orientalism, secondly 2)has a wide opening for extreme EASE of introducing tea leaves and washing after steeping, 3)has a sharp-ish spout for decisive cutting of flow, and 4)has a slightly raised lid that stores a column of air above the tea water level when the lid is closed, so that during the initial first moment of pour with that few degrees of tilt, tea water flows out decisively and easily right from the start. 5) It also has a raised circular base with the protruding circular foot so that it is easier for you to lower your hand and introduce your index finger into the handle without your middle finger knuckle hitting the tea table. This raised foot also makes the pot seems larger than its volume suggests, giving a bigger presence on your 禅意十足 Zen tea table.
Crafted at 170ml to cater for our tea friends who want a smallish 170ml pot suitable for two persons.
THIS is a new project that Chen Fa Chu took up with our request after the earlier Da Bin Ru Yi 大彬如意 of 150ml in April 2023!
This Ming Lu is specially newly minted and crafted at 170ml with Lao Zi Ni.
Craftsman Chen specially took his time and dedication to craft in a hand-pushed in filter, due to the small base of the spout. His previous Ming Lu's of 220ml, does not need a hand-pushed in filter, but here, being made at 170ml: the spout HAS to be made proportionally SMALLER. This resulted in the base of spout being smaller.
Craftsman Chen is so sweet and diligent, he took time to specially to craft in this hand-pushed in filter to facilitate the outpour of tea during serving (due to the narrow base of spout). Resourceful, kind and hardworking.... thank you Craftsman Chen!!!!
