Another big thank you to Ian and Jeff! I feel very lucky to have bought this lovely pot by L3 artist Jiang Li Juan (蒋丽娟). This is one of three pots by her that I now own, and I am very fond of her work for its refinement and precision of craftsmanship. It turns out that the clay is Zhuni Dahongpao (朱泥大红袍), and the dark red/orange colour is extremely attractive. The subtle shrinkage lines towards the top of the body and the lustrous pot surface make it a pleasure to look at and to handle. The shape of the pot, Lianzi (莲子), seems perfectly formed and it has a sensual, tactile quality. I use the pot for oolong tea, and the handle is comfortable to hold, with the pour being smooth and strong without drips. As always, the pot arrived quickly and was beautifully and securely packaged. The price was also incredibly reasonable!
