Yang Tong 洋桶,
Senior Master Cao has also specially done the clay sculpting herself on the pot! With crafted from Cao Family's Ben Shan Duan Ni 曹家本山段泥,
by Senior Master Cao Lan Fang 曹兰芳。
Clay Sculpting of,
1) Poem,
东风随春归 发我枝上花
As Spring arrives,
We Feel The Eastern Wind,
And Admire the Blooming Flowers.
Accompanied by Clay Sculpting on the opposing face, of Magpie standing amidst the Spring Flowers I Full Bloom, calling in of freshness and auspicious-ness.
2). Joyful Magpie perched atop the Plum Blossoms in Full Bloom.
喜鹊加梅花,
... 喜上眉梢的意思 ...
喜上眉梢 is a Chinese Idiom, meaning, when one feels Joyful, your eyebrow atop will naturally smile as well!
This is a play on the words: 喜上眉梢
喜 "Xi" ~ Joy
上 Atop
眉梢 "Mei Shao" ~ Eyebrow wiggle
The astute and apt Clay Sculpting that Master Cao had crafted in, includes:
喜鹊 " Xi Que" ~ Joyful Magpie
加
梅花 " Mei Hua" ~ Plum Blossoms
Here the whole auspicious blooming picture is derived!
The Joyful Magpie Perched Atop the Plum Blossoms: aptly and directly means and manifests the blessings for the owner and guest: JOYFULNESS and SMILES!
Pictorially, the Joyful Magpie perched atop the Plum Blossoms in Full Bloom signifies the calling in of freshness and auspicious times for the owner and the family.
This ZiSha Spring Art is specially crafted from Cao Family's Ben Shan Duan Ni 曹家本山段泥, as Senior Master Cao chose it for its highly varied surface elements.
She wants it so, such that, while it forms a lighter yellow background upon which the Clay Sculpting shines through, this yellow is still rich and augments the Poem, Magpie and Plum Blossoms. This rich yellowish Duan Ni amazingly is bestowed with a delightful and very obvious amalgamation of ZiSha elements.
It is meant purposefully to provide a bountiful appearance no matter how you look at it, the meaning of the poem and the Magpie and Plum Blossoms, the austere clay surfaces.
The Yang Tong has a large expanse of surface: the generously designed spout and the delightful sculpted-ness of the top (shoulder line, lid-body interface, lid with the characteristic bull's nose design, allow the user, owners and guests alike to properly and easily appreciate the unique beauty of ZiSha.
All in all, it provides a visual feast, as a piece of resplendent Fully-Handmade ZiSha Art, and a delight to use as you the user and host, presses down on the lid with one hand and lifts the handle and angles it to steep tea for the guests.
Senior Master Cao has aimed to, and had succeeded in combining both worlds: Graceful splendour in action, coupled with Majestic appearance at rest.
A Palatial Centre Piece of Oriental Art!
