A very beautiful Fully-Handmade ZiSha work.

Another of our invite, Craftsman Wan Jia Lin, performed this for all of us friends: An exquisitley charming and Oriental ZiSha Art piece,

This is a the Ji Zhi 汲直 ZiSha model famously created by Chen Man Sheng 陈曼生。Chen Man Sheng is a famous calligrapher and painter in the Qing period. He also is the governor of an area what is YiXing now. He is a famous literati and he also loves ZiSha Art. He designed ZiSha Art and is prolific at it. Man Sheng's 18 Styles 曼生十八式 pots are FAMOUS within the ZiSha fraternity and continue to this date, an amazing 18 styles of legendary classics.

Ji An 汲黯 is a famous Minister of the Han Wu Di era and he is well-known for his honesty, frankness and Straightforward-ness.

直 is Straight.

Being a person of good honest character and Straightforward-ness, he is also known as Ji Zhi 汲直。

Chen Man Sheng designed this pot with him in mind and named it Ji Zhi, to signify the elegance and upright character Ji An has.

This pot has the discontinuous and roughly horizontal marks in the inner walls, and these are called the: 泥凳纹 Ni Deng Wen, which are the marks left on the clay slab , complementary to the marks on the workbench of the Craftsman Wan Jia Ling!!!🙇‍♂️🤗🎋 During the making of FHM ZiSha pots, the Craftladies and Craftsmen will be using tools to cut the clay slabs, etc, and these leave marks on the studio workbench. Especially the first major forceful cut across the table to delineate the clay she/he wants to utilise to form the main body of the body. Thus when the craftsman subsequently pound the clay slab on the workbench, these marks will be etched onto the clay slab! Thus you are "enjoying" the additional natural hallmarks of a Fully-Handmade pot. Even a partially handmade pot will not show these marks. And for those dishonest Jigger-machined pots may show CONCENTRIC circular lines, all parallel to one another.

Again, do cherish and have fun admiring the discontinuous, roughly horizontal lines on your pot's inner walls, are called, the 泥凳纹 Ni Deng Wen "Workbench Lines/Marks" 🌿👐🎋

This pot being named Ji Zhi, is to remind us to develop and maintain our honesty and upright character.

Here she crafts this at ~150ml volume.
